Model Talent Management

We are chatting with John Paul Pfeiffer International Model and Owner of Com menceQuest Model Talent Management.CQ .

We have had the great pleasure of working with John Paul for over five years as a model and now as a model talent manager..

John Paul has some great advice for Models

How did you get into modeling?

Well my senior year of College I ended up breaking my leg at a BMX National one week before my preseason football sessions were to begin. Needless to say this gave me a lot of extra time that I was not planning on having.. So I decided to take some advise of a scout I had met a few months before and do some tests in Toronto. It was the closest city to my school. After I graduated college I went straight down to NYC to see if it was something worth pursuing. First agency I had an appointment with liked me and I was off to castings that day. Rest is history..

What were some of your favorite campaigns that you worked on?

I’d have to say that the one I was happiest to be booking was the Bijan fragrance campaign. The fragrance campaigns are usually some of the best paying jobs so for that reason I was pretty happy.... I like everything that came out of the Ted Baker Campaign. The tear sheets were really nice and it was one of my first big Campaigns so it was pretty exciting.

Tell me what is CommenceQuest?

Commence Quest is a scouting and management company that I started because I saw through my own experiences with my co-models that most of them were not being properly managed on a global scale. We scout new models and work with already developed models to organize a career path that is individually tailored to each model and their desires.

How does it help Models?

Our objective is to have our models making money and manage their career that will produce the results that the model is looking for. Some models primary focus is to make money...Others desire to be in magazines and to get exposure and live the lifestyle. Sometime they work together but sometimes they don’t. Each case is different. We try to guide the model and give them a realistic expectation of what to expect with the look and tools that they posses.

Our job as model talent manager is to help build the models portfolio and get the model as much exposure to the right clients as possible. So we place them with agencies that service the clients that they are most suited for. We lay a web of agencies around the world for the model so that they are given the most opportunities to be proposed to clients and ultimately get work. Also we make sure that the models agencies are treating the model properly both personally and financially. We provide a backbone for the model to make sure that they get paid the money owed to them and in a timely manner.

What is the best advice as a model talent manager that you can give to a new model starting out?

Send us some snap shots and modeling images if you have them and fill out the model submission form on our site.. CommenceQuest

Thanks a bunch John Paul, it is always great to work with you and the wonderful talent you represent.
