~Maliyah~

When I think of the word compassion, I think "Maliyah". She has the biggest heart of anyone that I have ever seen. Things have not always been easy, but Maliyah has always had a smile that could shine through the darkest of nights. As long as I could remember, she has been a crowd pleaser. There has always been a desire to be in the spotlight. But that is not the only thing that is important to her. She has steadily been on the Honor Roll at school with a good attendance rate, regularly attends church, is on the Raptors All-Stars competition cheer squad, has been in Girl Scouts since Kindergarden, and plays on a community softball league. She understands that being part of a team is very important. Maliyah has been wanting to be a model for years, but I have not had the knowledge or opportunites to get her "into the business". So many people have told me that she "has the look" and I know that all mothers think they're own child is the most beautiful in the world, but I truly believe that it's much more than that. She is a very dedicated person. Every time she sees a commercial, magazine, movie, etc... she says "that should be me!", jokingly, of course, but deep inside, I know she means it. Her and her sister make up skits and play them out all the time and have their own photo shoots. anyway, this is my first time contacting/writing anything about my daughter. She is 10 now and there is not a day that goes by where she doesn't talk to me about getting into modeling. We sit at the computer together and try to find different agencies, etc. but cannot seem to find "the one". But, our fingers remained crossed.
