Beverly with "Vogue" by husband Pablo
My name is Beverly Solomon and I am married to internationally recognized artist, Pablo Solomon. Before becoming his muse and business manager, I was a model and then went into sales and marketing for Diane von Furstenberg, Revlon and Ralph Lauren. We now live and work on our historic 1856 ranch north of Austin, Texas. You can see us and Pablo's work at pablosolomon.com
How the fashion industry has influenced me:
I have always been a visual person and loved all things beautiful. I started by reading young girl's magazines but quickly graduated to Vogue, then headed by Diana Vreeland, by the time I was twelve. Next to my fashionable mother, Mrs. Vreeland had an enormous influence on me by exposing me to a world of style, elegance and sophisticated excitement. I absorbed it like a sponge.
I quickly threw myself into the fashion world as a model and eventually worked my way into sales and marketing with such great companies as Diane von Furstenberg, Revlon and Ralph Lauren.
As for my own style, I developed a talent for color, line, wardrobe coordination and having the confidence to carry it off. Also, I invested in good pieces of costume jewelry, scarves, etc. when Yves Saint Laurent, Halston, Oscar de la Renta and Diane von Furstenberg were up and coming fashion designers.
Now that I live and work with my artist husband Pablo, my style is more high fashion casual....heavy on the big statement jewelry for an artsy effect. I still keep a close eye on the fashion industry by subscribing to a half dozen fashion magazines. Unlike the naysayers, I have found the fashion industry to be a positive influence on my life as long as I am in conrol of it.
