Hi Everyone,
The holidays are just around the corner and for many that means celebrating with family & friends and usually with a lot food.. There are a several ways to enjoy holiday celebrations and meals without ruining your fitness goals ...so don't let the holiday's stress you out follow a few simple hints and you should be ok.
Don’t Skip out
Those big holiday meals usually happen in the evenings with over following amounts of food. So don't wait till then to eat all your calories - make sure that you get in your breakfast, lunch and a few snacks that way you are less likely to go over boarding when eating dinner. Eat clean and be lean.
Portion control everything
Moderation is key - while so many treats may tempt us during the holidays it can be very easy to binge out on that chocolate cake that has been staring you down, instead have a small piece and savor each bite and stick with small serving for all your meals.
Eat before eating
With so many holiday parties with a selection of maybe the healthiest of food choices - I always advise to eat before heading out - that way your full and less likely to eat "bad" calories at the party.
Be aware of the high-fat/calorie items
Be aware of the desserts pies, cakes, cookies, etc. This is where portion control is key - instead opt for fruit salads and veggie trays .
You can still exercise
Even if your have no time for the gym because your still out shopping - take a few minutes each day to do an exercise or two - like push-ups, squats, lunges and abs. Don't wait for the New Year to begin achieve your dream body.
Don't drink your calories away
Be careful with your alcohol as many drinks are loaded with sugar. Have a glass of wine instead of mixed drinks and or beer. Have plenty of water to help keep you hydrate and feeling full.
